Eloquent and gentle, Ja'far led the Muslims in Abyssinia and spoke their defence before the Najashi. He was martyred at Mu'tah, and is remembered as 'the one of two wings'.

When Quraysh demanded the refugees' return, Ja'far described their new faith so beautifully — reciting from Surah Maryam — that the king wept and refused to surrender them.

Martyrdom at Mu'tah
Authentic Narration
He carried the banner at Mu'tah until he was slain, and the Prophet ﷺ gave the glad tiding that God had given him two wings in Paradise.
