A pampered youth of Makkah who gave up luxury for faith, Mus'ab was sent to teach Islam in Yathrib before the Hijrah. He fell as a martyr at Uhud, bearing the banner.

Historical Report

After the first Aqabah pledge, the Prophet ﷺ sent Mus'ab to Madinah to teach the Qur'an. Through him many of the Ansar came to Islam, preparing the city for the Hijrah.

Martyrdom

Authentic Narration

He carried the banner at Uhud and held it until he was slain. His shroud was so short it could not cover both his head and feet — a poignant sign of his sacrifice.
