The First Revelation
Read — in the name of your Lord
The angel Jibril came with the command 'Read'. The first verses of Surah al-'Alaq were revealed, and the mission of prophethood began. He ﷺ returned trembling to Khadijah, who became the first to believe.

The angel Jibril brought the first words of the Qur'an — the opening verses of Surah al-'Alaq — beginning the mission of prophethood.

The First to Believe
Returning home, he was reassured by Khadijah, who believed without hesitation and became the first Muslim.
