Al-Amin — The Trustworthy

Known for truth before prophethood

As a young man he tended flocks, then traded on the caravans, earning a reputation so spotless that Makkah called him Al-Amin — the Trustworthy. He joined the Hilf al-Fudul, a pact to defend the wronged, and later married Khadijah bint Khuwaylid.

01

A Reputation for Honesty

His truthfulness in trade and dealings earned him the title Al-Amin across a Makkah that trusted him with its deposits.

02

The Pact of the Virtuous

He took part in the Hilf al-Fudul, an alliance to support the oppressed — a stand he honoured even after prophethood.
